webcam focused on Angel Island in San Francisco, California


Visitors disembark at Ayala Cove on Angel Island, as did the first explorers who sailed into the bay.  View it on this webcam.  The island served as a detention center for immigrants from 1910 to 1940 (the island was once called the “Ellis Island of the West”), as a prisoner-of-war processing facility, and as a Nike missile defense base from 1955 to 1962.  WEBCAM DEACTIVATED
